Six killed, five injured after passenger van falls off bridge in Mansehra

MANSEHRA/PESHAWAR: Six people, two among them women, were killed and five others injured when a passenger van fell off a bridge on Hazara Motorway in Mansehra, according to a Rescue 1122 official on Saturday.
Rescue 1122 Mansehra district emergency officer Hafeezur Rehman told reporters that the van with 13 passengers onboard was heading from Battagram’s Allai tehsil to Mansehra. The driver lost control over the steering wheel while passing a bridge and the van plunged off the bridge and fell into a deep ditch.
The official said a rescue team reached the site soon after receiving information the accident and pulled out the bodies and the injured from the ditch.
The dead and the injured were shifted to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital in Mansehra. Earlier this month, 21 members of a family from Peshawar were injured when a wagon they were travelling in overturned on the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road in the Sangar area of Balakot. – News Agencies / Web Desk
