Proposals floated to help out deserving and needy artists
ISLAMABAD: The 12th meeting of Steering Committee of Federal Government Artists Weflare Fund was held here at National Heritage and Culture Division under the chairmanship of Adviser to the Prime Minister for Political, Public Affairs, National Heritage and Culture Engr Amir Muqam.
The meeting discussed various proposals to help out the extremely deserving and needy artists of the country.
The meeting was attended by Secretary National Heritage and Culture Division Fareena Mazhar, Joint Secretary Muzafar Ali Burki and other senior officials of the Division
The meeting was also attended by members of the Steering Committee Asghar Nadeem Syed, Shahid Mahmood Nadeem, Sohail Ahmed, Mukhtiar Anjum Muradabadi, Dr, Arfa Syeda Zehra, Muhammad Ahmed Shah, Noor ul Huda Shah, Laila Khan, Afsarul Mulk, Karan Khan, Afzal Murad, Allah Dino Baloch, Sardar Ishtiaq Ahmed Atish and Zafar Waqar Taj.
Adviser to Prime Minister Engr Amir Muqam welcomed the members of the steering committee in the meeting.
He stressed on prompt disbursement of artists welfare fund to provide timely financial support to artists in dire need of financial assistance.
The Steering Committee approved the implementation status of the 11th meeting.
The committee granted principal approval of disbursement of fund to the applicant artists duly scrutinized and recommended by provincial and regional sub committees. The committee also recommended that the regional members of the committee may be asked to scrutinize the applicant names before recommendation of financial assistance in future. –Our Correspondent/News Agencies
